The Empathy Quotient (EQ) is a self-report measure of empathy, which is the ability to understand and share the emotions of others. It is intended to assess individual differences in empathy and has been used in both research and clinical settings.

The EQ was developed by Simon Baron-Cohen and Sally Wheelwright at the Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge.
