The Child and Adolescent Trauma Screen–Caregiver for ages 3–6 (CATS-C-PS) is a caregiver-report screening measure designed to assess potentially traumatic experiences and posttraumatic stress symptoms in preschool-aged children. It includes items about traumatic events, 16 posttraumatic stress symptoms aligned with the DSM-5 PTSD criteria for children ages 3–6, and items assessing functional impairment. The measure is completed by a caregiver familiar with the child’s behavior and functioning. Because preschool children may show trauma-related symptoms differently from older children, this version uses age-specific symptom criteria.
